Galle's miniature Ortelius atlas enjoyed so much success that it was copied by Pietro Marchetti for the Italian market. This map is based on Ortelius' oval map of the world with huge polar continents providing balance for the world's continents. A Northwest Passage is prominently featured. Italian text on verso.
