This handsome map of the 15th and 16th states to be admitted to the Union features canals and railroads chartered, proposed, and finished. County development in Kentucky precedes the creation of Marion County in 1834, and in Tennessee, Benton and Lauderdale counties, both founded in 1835, are missing. Several towns and cities are identified including Nashville, Louisville, Memphis, Frankfort, Lexington, Murfreesboro, and Knoxville. Engraved by G.W. Boynton.
