This attractive lot contains maps of Europe mostly during World War II. Of particular interest in this group is The Inner Fortress that shows the Nazi Empire boldly colored in a deep red with its outer reaches shaded orange. Within the "Fortress," numerous resources are identified and keyed to a legend including cattle, coal, iron, lead, and petroleum to name a few. Also of interest is the stark contrast of the One Year After map that shows the changing borders since the German surrender including the Baltic States and parts of Finland, Poland and Romania. The verso of each sheet contains numerous illustrations and advertisements. The full list of maps include:
A. The Inner Fortress, published 1943 (21.6 x 14.3").
B. Touring Map of England Scotland and Wales, published 1936 (14.4 x 21.7").
