It covers all of England, Wales, and the southern portion of Scotland and depicts roads, towns and cities, rivers, canals and topography. Also includes a comprehensive 85-page "List of Places," a list of subscribers, and an index map. Complete. Blank sheets 62 and 80 not present, as issued, for a total of 80 map sheets. Hardbound in original leather boards with gilt tooling; and new suede spine with silver tooling and title; marbled end papers.

A clean and bright example with original color, light offsetting, and an occasional spot of foxing. Bookplates from two previous owners appear on the front pastedown and front free end-paper. New hinges have been added, and covers show moderate wear and scuffing.
