This attractive plan of Madrid shows the streets, squares, gardens, important buildings, and surrounding countryside including the Manzanares River. The plan is keyed to a legend at both left and right listing 72 points of interest. The plan was issued near the beginning of the Peninsular War (1807-1814), which was found between Napoleon's French empire and the combined forces of Spain, Portugal and Great Britain for control of the Iberian Peninsula. Published on September 3rd, 1808 in London.
