A scarce map depicting the course of the Dvina River in strip map style. The headwaters are at bottom left, with the mouth at Archangelsk at upper right. The map is decorated with a superb title cartouche surrounded by putti and a distance scale flanked by wildlife. The plate was originally engraved by Jan Jansson. This edition was published by Valck and Schenk, with their imprint added to the title cartouche. The erasure of Jansson's imprint just above the neatline at bottom center is still lightly visible.

A crisp impression with faint offsetting and soiling along the centerfold. There is an extraneous vertical crease adjacent to the centerfold and archival repairs to centerfold separations at top and bottom and a few short marginal tears.
