This uncommon and intricately engraved map zeroes in on the Bay of Naples. The map is distinguished by its striking topographical detail, with the massive crater of Mount Vesuvius prominently featured. Naples, Sorrento, and several other towns and cities are named. A key at top right identifies archbishoprics and bishoprics, cities, castles, churches, quarries, ruins, and more. There is an ornate title cartouche at bottom right that is adorned with mythological figures. A compass rose in the bay orients the north to the left.
