This volume, written by George Sandys, is divided into four parts and covers Greece, Egypt, Italy and the Holy Land. Of particular interest is an untitled folding map (10.2 x 13.7") at the front of the volume covering the region from Italy to the Caspian Sea, and south to northern Africa. Basic detail is included and is decorated by a sea monster and sailing ship in the Mediterranean. The text includes numerous engravings and features a fold out view of Istanbul and several smaller engravings related to Jerusalem. This is the seventh edition printed for John Williams Junior. It includes an additional decorative title page from the sixth edition. Small folio, rebound in maroon faux leather with raised bands and title label on spine.

George Sandys was a traveler, poet, and early colonist for the Virginia Company. His narrative of the Eastern Mediterranean was a standard, 17th century source book on the region.
