This is a handsome map of today's Morocco and most of Algeria. It extends to include the southern tip of Spain and the Strait of Gibraltar. The map is filled with details including mountains, many rivers and dozens of place names and is embellished with a large decorative title cartouche. A nice example of Sanson's cartography, engraved by Jean Somer.

Original outline color with later color in the cartouche, on watermarked paper with very light toning and soiling. There are some tiny tears along the edges of the sheet.
