This uncommon and beautiful map depicts northern Egypt and the Red Sea. It features title and distance scale cartouches, both flanked by figures, and a coat of arms emblazoned with three vipers. Two groups of pyramids are shown, to the southwest of Cairo and west of the Nile across from Qena. The map is oriented with north to the left. Published in a German version of Atlas Major. Blank verso.

An attractive impression in original color with a few faint spots and a small worm hole in an unengraved area next to the distance scale. There are a few minor chips along the bottom sheet edge and remnants of hinge tape on verso.
