This is a seldom seen bird's-eye view of central Manhattan produced for the Architectural Forum magazine. The view covers the area from Sixth Avenue east to Lexington Avenue, and from 39th Street north to 51st. A key at bottom lists 43 points of interest including buildings, cafes, churches, clubs, hotels, and shops. In the lower right corner is the imprint of Daniel K. Wallingford, who would later produce A New Yorker's Idea of the United States of America and This Map Presents a Bostonian's Idea of the United States of America, which are both available in the current auction. This is likely one of his earliest works.
