Goos' charts are considered the most beautiful of sea charts; this being no exception with a fabulous title cartouche, sailing ships and compass roses. This rare chart extends from Mexico City, Mexico to Quintero, Chile, which is located just north of present-day Santiago. The chart focuses on Central America and the western coast of South America with numerous place names filling the coastlines.

Light but uneven toning, with a short centerfold separation at top and a 1/2" tear across the centerfold at the bottom of the image that have been archivally repaired on verso. The side margins have been extended to accommodate framing, with the additional paper also serving to close two small worm tracks along the neatline.
