This large Civil War era map covers the United States west to Dakota Territory, Nebraska, Kansas, Indian Territory, and East Texas. It is very detailed and filled with information including state and county boundaries, state capitals, wagon roads, turnpikes, railroads, forts, post offices, court houses, and light houses. Southern Florida is included in an inset. It also covers the adjacent parts of Canada illustrating the railroad network. An advertisement next to the title includes a list of Lloyd's maps, most of which were available varnished, mounted on linen, with rollers. This much more uncommon example is dissected, mounted on linen, and comes with in a modern maroon clamshell case.

References: Stephenson (CW) #41.4.

Condition: B+

An overall impressive example with some light staining confined to the area around the title at bottom right. There is one tiny hole just south of Jefferson City, Missouri next to the linen fold line. The modern clamshell case is fine.

Estimate: $1,100 - $1,400
