These seven state maps depicting the northeastern United States were published in the 1794 London edition (Stockdale) of Morse’s The American Geography, containing 25 maps. It was the first detailed compilation of maps focusing on the individual states and territories of the United States. It predates Scott’s United States Gazetteer, Guthrie’s Geography and Mathew Carey’s American Atlas, all published in 1795. The list of maps included are:
A. A Map of the State of New York (7.0 x 8.9").
B. A Map of Massachusets from the Best Authorities (9.0 x 6.9").
C. A Map of Pensylvania from the Best Authorities (9.1 x 7.1").
D. A Map of New Jersey from the Best Authorities (6.8 x 9.0").
E. A Map of Connecticut (8.9 x 7.0").
F. A Map of Vermont (6.8 x 8.8").
G. A Map of New Hampshire (6.9 x 8.8").
