This attractive and informative atlas dedicated to Yolo County was published by De Pue & Company in Oakland. It contains a total of 5 double-page and 1 single-page maps of the county showing detailed land ownership, canals, railroads, creeks, the street-grid pattern of Woodland, and more. Of particular interest are the 50 single and double-page illustrations showing important residences, farms, ranches, and other buildings that give a wonderful snapshot of life at this time. In addition to the maps and plates are 9 single-page portrait plates of notable citizens, as well as histories of both Yolo County (1825-1880) and the state of California (1513-1850). Printed by Joseph Winterburn & Company in San Francisco. Rebound in quarter faux leather with tips over original brown cloth boards with gilt tile on front cover.
