The Panama Canal railway was built by American investors between 1850-55, and was integral in the building of the canal years later (commencing in 1881). This double-page sheet includes a map of Panama showing the location of the railway between Chagres and Panama City, as well as over a dozen lush, inviting views along the railway. The Atlantic and Pacific terminus stations are shown along with a number of cities along the route. Published March 17, 1877. The Graphic was a British weekly illustrated newspaper published between 1869-1932.
