This large, uncommon fire insurance plan is presented on a scale of 120 feet to one inch. It has a key at the top explaining building construction and which buildings are properly constructed, and which are "poor and probably uninsurable." Hospitals, streets, stores, schools, banks, fire hydrants, post offices and memorials are identified or named. Other interesting locations include the meat market, fish market, prison, and the debris of the town from a prior fire. Dated March 1897 by Chas. E. Goad Civil Engineer Montreal & Toronto, Canada. Two compass roses align north to the upper left. A most uncommon issue.
