This petite globe measures only 1.75" in diameter and is constructed of 12 lithographed and hand colored gores. Only basic cartographic information is presented with the continents, several countries, and a few cities named in English. Attached to the bottom interior of the globe box is a fascinating, accordion-style foldout containing 32 different figures from around the world in their native costumes (2 x 56" when fully extended). Each costumed figure is identified in English, French, and German. While there is no attribution on the globe, this novelty item was likely the work of the Nuremberg-based Bauer firm, who specialized in small education globes for the English market. Other similar globes can be found with the initials "C.B." for Carl Bauer. The globe is housed in its original blue cardboard box with a modern replacement top.

The globe is very good with occasional minor surface abrasions and even light soiling. There is a tiny amount of loss at the North Pole where the globe gores meet. The accordion-style foldout has minor soiling and staining, but intact with no tears. There is average wear and soiling to cardboard box.
