These books make up the second volume of The History of Cartography series, which is considered an essential reference on the history of cartographic refinement and a terrific source of expert knowledge. The series is organized by region and time period, and takes into consideration the context of the societies that made and used the maps discussed. Volume Two centers on Asian cartography. Each volume is extensively illustrated with color and black and white reproductions that show examples of each discussion in tremendous detail. Edited by J.B. Harley and David Woodward. Both are 8vo, hardbound in gray cloth with gilt titles on the spine printed within a field of blue, depending on the volume, with illustrated dust jackets.
