This pictorial map was produced by Lawrence Edward Shick, a 1920 graduate of West Point. It presents the Academy in a cartoonish-style similar to other maps of the period, with numerous buildings and all aspects of daily life depicted. Includes an inset of Popolopen and "The Torne" at bottom left. Frequently reprinted in larger sizes, this is the original version.

Lawrence Shick served as Instructor of Drawing at the Academy from 1925 to 1928 when this map was produced. He later designed the 1937 U.S. postage stamp featuring West Point. During WWII he received the Distinguished Service Medal for his role in planning the invasion of Okinawa and retired as a Brigadier General.
