This is a bird's-eye view of the city of Santo Domingo, now the capital of the Dominican Republic and the largest city in the Caribbean. There are two ships in the foreground with several cathedrals, the port, and the city's fortifications detailed in the view. A drape-style title cartouche hangs above the city. French text on verso.
