The map shows the new discoveries from Cook's expeditions in Australia and the south Pacific, although Tasmania is still attached to Australia as the Bass Strait wasn't discovered until 1798. The new United States is labeled American St. with the states of New York, Maryland, Virginia, Georgia and Florida named. The region to the west of the Mississippi River is labeled Louisiana.
