An uncommon map depicting the Manila Strait with numerous ships traveling through its waters. Topography and vegetation are pictorially represented on the surrounding islands including Luzon, Mindoro, Burias, Ticao, and Isla han Samar. The map was included in volume 8 of the French translation of Isaac Commelin's compilation of Dutch expeditions, translated by Rene Augustin Constantin De Renneville and published under the title: Recueil des Voyages qui Ont Servi a l'Establissement et aux Progrez de la Compagnie des Indes Orientales Formee dans les Provinces-Unies des Pais-Bas. De Renneville's work included newly engraved maps copied from Commelin.
