Superb map of the southern part of the continent by the influential French cartographer. Particular emphasis is given to the river systems and the numerous volcanoes strung along the "Nevadas los Andes." There is also a great amount of detail in Paraguay where the large, mythical Lago de los Xarayes forms the headwaters of the River Plata. Title enclosed in a bold Greek key style cartouche. Engraved by Jean Somer.

Condition: B+
Original outline color with later color in the cartouche on paper with a large easel watermark. There is light toning along the centerfold and edges of the sheet, and minor foxing mostly confined to the blank margins.
