This splendid map depicts the travels of St. Paul and is taken directly from the work of Ortelius and engraved by Petrus Kaerius. Two fine scenes at the top depict incidents during the journey with a curtain-style title cartouche between them. The map shows the countries along the Mediterranean, including Cyprus, Greece, and most of Italy. In the sea are a wrecked sailing ship and another being attacked by a sea monster. Blank verso, published in Pieter de Hondt's Description Exacte de l'Univers, ou l'Ancienne Geographie Sacree et Profane, a French edition of Georgius Hornius' Accuratissima Orbis Antiqui Delineatio, which included maps from Johannes Jansson's historical atlas and Abraham Ortelius' Parergon.
