Crisp, copper engraved map with fair detail throughout. The region north of Japan (Land of Iesso) is shown with faint hachures to indicate the coastlines yet to be explored with a notation adjoining the region described as Parts Unknown. The sea between Japan and Korea is named the Sea of Corea and Korea is depicted with a very truncated shape. Roads, provinces, and the Great Wall are shown in China. Later issues of this map have the corrected spelling for Japan in the title. Published in Thomas Salmon's Modern History.

A dark impression on a clean sheet with a small chip in the top left border that has been replaced with the border redrawn in facsimile. There is light offsetting mainly in the left blank margin, and a binding trim at lower right that has been replaced with old paper.
