An attractive sea chart of the South African coastal area of the Congo River inlet south to Cape Negro (now Tigres Island, Angola). The decorative cartouche features a pair of native Africans about to dispatch a bull with their spears, while the scale of miles cartouche features another native having a serious discussion with Neptune. The map is further adorned with rhumb lines, a compass rose, sailing ship and a sea monster.

On very sturdy paper with a few insignificant spots and a light dampstain primarily in the bottom blank margin.
