A. Carte de la Cote N.O. de l'Amerique et de la Cote N.E. de l Asie Reconnues en 1778 et 1779..., by Rigobert Bonne, from Atlas Encyclopedique, circa 1787, hand color (13.5 x 9.3"). This fascinating map shows the explorations of Capt. Cook's expedition in Alaska, the Bering Strait, and Kamchatka. The track of his ship in 1778 and 1779 are shown, as well as soundings. Ref: Falk #1788-1. Condition: On a watermarked sheet with a tiny abrasion at far left and light scattered foxing that is mostly confined to the blank margins. (A)
B. Carte de la Riviere de Cook, dans la Partie N.O. de l'Amerique, by Cook/Benard, from Troisieme Voyage De Cook, ou Voyage a l'Ocean Pacifique...,circa 1785, hand color (11.8 x 9.2"). This handsome map shows Capt. Cook's discoveries in Prince William Sound and Cook Inlet and includes the track and anchor points of the Resolution. The map is inset with Plan du Havre de Samganoodha, dans l'Isle de Oonalaska. A large compass rose dominates the center. Condition: A crisp impression on watermarked paper with minor offsetting and marginal soiling. (A)

Vues des Terres de la Cote Occidentale de l'Amerique, a l'Ouest de la Riviere de Cook, by Cook/Benard, from Troisieme Voyage De Cook, ou Voyage a l'Ocean Pacifique..., circa 1785, black & white (18.1 x 9.1"). This sheet feature 8 striking engravings depicting Alaskan views, including Mount Shishaldin, a volcano and the highest peak in the Aleutian Islands. Condition: A dark impression issued folding on a watermarked sheet with some light spots and offsetting. There is heavy soiling and some tiny tears along the edges of the sheet. (B+)
