This extensive bibliography was created from Woodbury Lowery's collection of maps of the early Spanish settlements in the United States along with his own manuscript, "A Preliminary List of Maps of the Spanish Possessions within the present Limits of the United States." Lowery left these materials to the Library of Congress upon his death in 1906. His manuscript describes 750 maps, 306 from his own collection, 206 in the map division of the Library of Congress, and 184 from other sources. Signed by Phillips. 567 pages, 8vo.
