This attractive and colorful map presented on Mercator's projection was drawn by Jacob Duve and published by A. Visscher. It is densely filled with tiny vignettes showing wildlife, natural resources, agriculture, industry, and points of interest for nearly every country in the world. The seas are richly embellished with numerous ships, aquatic life, and a scene of Neptune in the southern sea. The composition is completed by a scroll title cartouche and 16-point compass rose. Printed in Belgium.
