These charming vintage booklets were given as souvenirs to passengers flying Trans World Airlines (TWA). Founded as Transcontinental & Western Air in 1930, TWA was one of the four major airlines in the United States. After WWII and the introduction of the incomparable Lockheed Constellation airliner, TWA expanded into Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, thereby becoming the second international airline based in the United States (after Pan Am). This lot includes three booklets that feature a large world or United States map and numerous additional regional route maps. Each map is accompanied by descriptions of sights to watch for when approaching various cities along the routes. The booklets were produced by the two leading American map publishers of the era, General Drafting and Rand McNally.
