This colorful map of the Americas is surrounded by a border featuring the flags, population figures, sizes, and historical backgrounds of each nation. Little illustrations and historical notes cover the map. Among the sites to be seen are the Alamo, "Quivera and the Seven Cities of Cibola," the U.S. Capitol, the Wright brothers' airplane, a buccaneer, an iguana, Simon Bolivar, a llama, the Christ of the Andes, several ships, and much more. For some reason, Canada is not pictured. A legend at bottom right identifies major crops and resources. At left there is a text panel discussing the history of the continents surrounded by portraits of heroes selected by the 21 nations of the Pan-American Union. Designed by F. Haase and published by R.R. Bowker Co.
