This impressive, large-scale pocket map of the central Sierra Nevada mountains was published by the Sierra Club. It covers the area from Owens Lake (now dry) north to above Mono Lake and west to the Central Valley. The map is packed with detail including mountain peaks, drainage, railroads, roads, canals, and more. Features two fine insets of the Yosemite Valley and the former Hetch Hetchy Valley (now a reservoir). Printed on fine banknote-style paper and folds into brown paper wrappers (4.5 x 10"). Drawn by Joseph LeConte and lithographed by W.B. Walkup in San Francisco.
The Sierra Club maps are particularly scarce - especially those published before 1900.

A remarkably well-preserved example with a few faint spots near the title at lower left. Paper wrappers have light wear with an old owner's signature on the inside front panel.
