This large sheet is centered on a proposed 100 acre harbor adjacent to the Niagara River with Queenston, Ontario at left and Lewiston, New York at top. The proposed harbor was a part of a larger plan to link Lake Erie and Ontario by a canal system. An inset at right details the plan for how ships would be lowered down Lewiston Ridge (at bottom) via locks, basins and the artificial harbor. Signed in the plate by W.G. Williams, Captain of the Topographical Engineers.
