Bold plan portrays the extensive fortifications of Aire and the nearby Fort St. Francis with an inset plan of St. Venant. The chart is oriented with northwest at top by a decorative compass rose. Engraved by Isaac Basire.

A nice impression on paper with a fleur-de-lis watermark, issued folding with light toning along the top edge of the sheet. The top margin has been trimmed with partial loss of the neatline, and there is a small chip also at top just above the compass rose.
