This superbly engraved map follows the course of the Rhine River as it turns eastward between Kestert (south of Koblenz) and Walluf (just west of Mainz), and also shows a good portion of the state of the Rhineland-Palatinate to the west and south. At bottom left is an inset map showing the entire course of the Rhine River. The decorative title cartouche features the a coat of arms with the German Imperial Eagle, putti, and a garland of fruit. This is the western sheet of a two-sheet map of the Rhine River in the Palatinate region, with each sheet complete on its own with full borders.
