This handsome miniature map is centered on Verona, extending west to Lake Garda and east to Vicenza, and depicts numerous small towns, rivers and mountains. Oddly, the geography on this map is actually a mirror image from what it is supposed to be - although it correctly indicates north to the right, Verona is shown west of Lake Garda instead of east. Italian text on verso.
Pietro Maria Marchetti produced the second pocket atlas based on Abraham Ortelius' folio Theatrum. It is often referred to as the plagiarized version of the Epitome. The copper plates are closely copied from those of Philip Galle's 1593 Italian edition.
