A nice group of highly detailed Clason road maps used for promotional purposes:
A. Los Angeles & Vicinity Including Parts of North Hollywood - Burbank Glendale - Pasadena..., dated 1930 (20.9 x 23.2"). This street grid map locates Bank of Italy branches with small red stars. The Bank of Italy merged with the smaller Bank of America and took its name in November 1930, so it is likely that this map was short-lived. Includes a map of the Greater Los Angeles region on verso along with promotional text. Condition: A clean example with a few tiny splits at fold intersections. (A)
B. Automobile Road Map of the Los Angeles Region, dated 1927 (25.8 x 16.1"). This advertising map of the Los Angeles vicinity was published for the Security Trust & Savings Bank and shows the paved road network in orange overprinting. Additional detail includes dirt roads, poor or private roads, trails, and electric lines. The verso contains promotional text and inset maps of Central California, North and West of Los Angeles, the Inland Empire, and San Diego County. Condition: There are two small splits at fold intersections (one with minor loss) and a hint of toning along the fold lines. (B+)
C. Map of Los Angeles, dated 1923 (20.9 x 24.5"). A highly detailed street map showing the locations of the Lyon Fireproof Storage company. The verso contains a map of the greater region with illustrations and text promoting the company. Condition: There are several short splits at fold intersections. (B+)
