This uncommon map of Asia was published in a later edition of Le Sage's French historical atlas which served as a forerunner to the familiar Carey & Lea/Buchon atlases. It depicts political divisions and topographical details and identifies English, Dutch, Spanish, and Chinese colonial holdings. There are numerous notes in French throughout the map with information about population, climate, history, and more. Printed by Alex Jouvenel and published by P.J. de Mat. The map is surrounded by French text with additional information about the region. The sheet with French text measures 27.3 x 20.8".
