This is the fifth volume in this incredible series on the history of cartography. This volume concentrates on ten wall maps of the four continents, Germany, Italy, Flanders, and parts of the Netherlands by Dutch masters Blaeu and Visscher. It provides a superb carto-bibliography of the most decorative wall maps from the Dutch Golden Age. Text volume in both Dutch and English, 384 pp., profusely illustrated, together with the portfolio containing full-size facsimile reproductions on 142 sheets. Map facsimiles are in very good condition, with some minor extraneous creasing to some of the sheets' corners and a short edge tear on a title sheet. Covers have minor soiling.
