This small spherical map of the western hemisphere is surrounded by a larger sphere identifying the various circles of latitude and the ecliptic circle. The map of the western hemisphere shows common geographical attributes of the early 18th century, including the island of California, an undefined Pacific Northwest in North America, and a partial coastline of the great southern continent.
