This detailed chart chronicles the track of the H.M.S. Griper under the command of Captain George Francis Lyon on its failed voyage to Repulse Bay in 1824. The expedition's course is traced from Hudson's Strait to Roes Welcome Sound, where excessive ice and stormy conditions forced the crew to turn back. Their return course, and the obstacles along the way, are charted as well. Navigational notes, soundings, anchorages, and dates are noted. Drawn by Edward Nicholas Kendall and engraved by J. Walker.
