This lot includes three promotional flight map pamphlets from three major American airlines.
A. Welcome Aboard!, by Continental Airlines, dated 1964 (15.0 x 9.3"). This map of the United States is crisscrossed by Continental flight routes. Continental Interchange Service and connecting airline routes are shown as well. The illustrated decorative cover, designed by Salesvertising Art, depicts the Continental 707 aircraft and travel to Chicago, Paris, Los Angeles, Denver, Hawaii, and the American Southwest. Lithographed by Tewell's in Denver. Condition: There is extraneous creasing and light wear. (B+)
B. Air Atlas, by United Airlines, dated 1965 (29.9 x 18.3"). This flight map by United Airlines includes an inset showing routes to Hawaii. "Mary Mainliner" serves as an illustrated tour guide through various tables and informative text detailing population figures, mileage between cities served by United, points of historical interest, geology, and more. The verso of the pamphlet compares the various planes in United's jet fleet. Condition: Issued folding with minor wear along the folds. (A)
C. Delta System Route Map, by Delta Air Lines, dated 1989 (25.9 x 18.4"). This flight map focuses primarily on Delta routes within the United States, with some routes into major cities in Mexico and Canada. Various insets cover connecting airline routes and flights to Europe, North Alaska, Korea and Japan, and Hawaii. The verso includes a comparison of the planes in the Delta fleet and promotional copy.
