A nice lot of early road maps of the greater Los Angeles vicinity by the Automobile Club of Southern California including:
A. Automobile Road Map Touring Los Angeles and Vicinity Showing Boulevards - Good Roads and Highways Also Including Main Line and Interurban Railway Systems, Cities, Towns, Beach and Mountain Resorts, dated 1913-15 (29.5 x 18.1"). Highly detailed, the map extends from Los Angeles east to Big Bear and north to the Mohave Desert. Shows the road system, city street grids, topography, and drainage. Index on verso. Drawn by Elmer Brown. Condition: There are a few faint stains, otherwise near fine. (B+)
B. Automobile Roa[d] Map Touring Los Angeles and Vicinity..., circa 1919 (29.6 x 18.1"). A very similar, updated version of the map above. Condition: Clean and bright. (A)
C. Map Showing Congested and Business District of the City of Los Angeles and Corners Where Left Hand Turns Are Prohibited, circa 1922 (9.7 x 9.0"). This useful little map shows the downtown business district and highlights the parking restrictions imposed during peak hours. A color-coded key at bottom identifies the various types of restrictions. Condition: (A)
D. Principal Automobile Routes In and Out of Los Angeles California, circa 1919 (19.4 x 14.9"). This map extends to Hollywood and Pasadena in the north and Huntington Park in the south, and is focused on the major roads in and out of downtown. A table at bottom features 10 points of interest, including the Pacific Coast League Baseball Park. Condition: Minor soiling with a few tiny holes along the upper horizontal fold. (B+)
