A. Birds Eye View of Casco Bay: Portland, Maine and Surroundings, by Geo. H. Walker & Co., dated 1906 (27.6 x 18.0"). This beautiful pocket bird's-eye view of this picturesque region extends from Casco Bay in Portland, Maine, inland to Sebago Lake, with New Hampshire's Mt. Washington and the Crawford Notch in the distance. The vista extends to Lewiston, Harpswell, Freeport, and Gorham among the many communities shown. The routes between the islands that the Casco Bay ships ran at that time are noted. Casco Bay Lines ferry services are still active in that area. This attractive view folds into cream paper covers (4 x 7").
B. An Historical & Pictorial Map of Casco Bay Maine, by Edward Rowe Snow and Draper Hill, Jr., circa 1950 (20.8 x 15.5"). This whimsical map of the region is filled with illustrations and historical notes including numerous shipwrecks, the funeral of the "witch" of Harspwell Neck, and the stopping point of an around the world flight to name a few. A humorous note in the title cartouche states that "any similarity between accurate town surveys or government charts and this map is purely coincidental."
