This zoomorphic map of western Switzerland was created by Johann Jakob Störcklein after a drawing by Louis Francosi Boizot. The map depicts the Canton of Bern in the shape of a bear, holding a scepter and a sword in its paws. The map extends to Lake Leman in the southwest to Mandach in the northeast. A compass rose sits on the bear's hind leg. A rare cartographic curiosity.
