This map represents an early proposal for a transcontinental highway from Washington D.C. to Los Angeles by the National Highways Association. Below the title, the text states that the highway was to "be built and forever maintained by the United States Government." Additional inset text argues that "National Highways will bring about the establishment of Highway Airports." Includes an elevation profile at bottom.
