A. Cape Cod - The Ideal Vacation Land with Map, Railroad, Bus and Boat Timetables, by the Crawford Press, dated 1928, printed color (21.4 x 16.3"). This promotional brochure features 48 pages of text with numerous illustrations and advertisements, as well as an untitled folding map at back. It covers the region from Providence and Boston east to Cape Cod and Martha's Vineyard showing both the road and railroad network and is surrounded by local advertisements. Folds into pictorial wrappers featuring a woman aquaplaning. Condition: Maps and text are fine, while wrappers have minor wear. (A)

B. The Cape Cod Aquaplane, by Cape Cod Ship Building Corp., circa 1920, black & white (3.1 x 5.3"). This 4 page miniature brochure explains how to order and use an aquaplane. The company has an advertisement in the border of the map described above (top right). The aquaplane was a precursor of the water ski which was invented in 1922 and quickly superseded the aquaplane in popularity. Condition: There is an extraneous fold with some minor soiling on the front page. (B+)
