These two maps were issued in the Oil and Gas Journal by the Petroleum Publishing Company of Tulsa, Oklahoma:
A. Journal-Guide to Texas Oil, dated 1951 (43.1 x 33.0"). This very large map of Texas is keyed to a legend at bottom locating oil pools, gas pools, and salt domes with producing oil/gas. The map reveals large gas pools in the panhandle as well as large oil pools in west Texas and south Texas. Includes inset maps at bottom showing gas and oil pipelines in the state. Blank verso. Issued as a supplement to the June 21, 1951 issue. Condition: Clean, bright and fine with a former owner's stamp confined to the lower blank margin.
B. Journal-Guide to Gulf Coast Oil, dated 1950 (46.9 x 34.9"). This highly detailed map of the Gulf Coast extends from the Texas/Mexico border to the Mississippi/Alabama border. The map is color-coded to a legend identifying oil fields, gas fields, salt domes, and refineries. Includes an extensive table to both oil and gas fields as well as tanker terminals. Blank verso. Issued as a supplement to the June 22, 1950 issue. Condition: Clean and colorful.
