This map was issued in conjunction with the Texas Centennial Exposition, celebrating the 100th anniversary of Texas' Independence from Mexico. Located at Fair Park in Dallas, more than 50 buildings were constructed for the event, which was credited with buffering the Dallas area from the effects of the Great Depression. Designed by W. Rodney Chirpe, the map shows historically important events and locations and is filled with small vignettes including the Fall of the Alamo, Waco Concentration Camp, and Hunting the Buffalo to name a few. It is surrounded by larger illustrations showing Texas' progression from Spanish control to a U.S. state. Published by the Montgomery Ward department stores. No historical sales records located, and only one institutional copy found on OCLC.
